I created this app because I was missing two simple things on my Mac:

  • a lightweight way to show off my vacation photos
  • and a quick way to check exactly where a specific photo was taken.

The app displays a list of all the photos in a selected folder on the left — including subfolders if you want — sorted by date.

In the center, you’ll see the currently selected photo, and on the right, there’s a map.

On the map, each photo’s location is marked with a small black camera icon. The selected photo is highlighted with a green camera.
All locations are connected by a line, so you can easily follow the route of your trip, for example.

Use the and arrow keys to scroll through the photo list — the main photo and map update instantly as you go.
Zoom in or out on the map with the + and keys.

You can also click on any point on the map to jump straight to the corresponding photo in the list — super simple!

Press the spacebar to start the slideshow. It begins with the current photo, shows it in full screen, and automatically moves on after a few seconds.
If the next photo was taken a certain distance away, the map briefly appears and smoothly pans to the new location.
Press the spacebar again to pause the slideshow. Then, you can manually move through your photos using the arrow keys.
Press ESC anytime to exit the slideshow.

In the settings (press S for Settings), you can choose how long each photo is shown in the slideshow and define the distance at which the map should appear between photos.
You can also switch the language (English or German), toggle between light and dark mode and choose a sorting (date or name). All settings are saved automatically.

Use the button in the top left (or press O for Open) to select the folder with your photos.

Please note: The map view only works if the photo contains embedded GPS coordinates.
That’s the case with many modern cameras and almost all smartphones.
However, if the photo was edited or shared through certain apps, the location data may have been removed.

Of course, there is no advertising, no subscription, no in-app purchases and no personal data is collected or recorded.
